NEXT MARKET: OCTOBER 4, 2023
We now have two weeks remaining of the
2023 Richland Area Farmers’ Market.
(The last market will be on Wednesday, October 11)
THIS WEEK on WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 4 FROM 1:30-5:30pm the Richland Area Farmers' Market will be at the Historic Train Depot, at the corner of Hwy 14 and W. Seminary Street. The entrance is directly opposite the Kwik Trip. There is plenty of parking all around the Depot with accessible parking right at the Depot. The Information Table is immediately to your right as you enter the Depot.
We accept EBT/SNAP benefits--just bring your Wisconsin EBT/SNAP card to the Information Table for processing. EBT/SNAP can be used on all food products.
We have five lucky winners from the market’s drawing last week. By now you should know who you are! Come to the Information Table to receive your $5 coupon toward any product at the market.
Additionally, we have a Youth Food Token Program. Young people ages 4-17 will receive two $1 tokens each time they come to the market, to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables and fresh herbs during the season.
Many of our vendors also accept Senior Vouchers. Senior vouchers are good for fresh fruits, vegetables and fresh herbs.
*Every week we collect produce from our vendors and during the market we usually make a rice sauté using those fruits and vegetables for customers to taste. Last week we had two main dishes: One was brown rice with eggplant, apples, onions, and peppers, and the other was green beans, broccoli, tomatoes and locally produced dried beans.
*What do we hope to have this week? apples, garlic, green beans, greens, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuces, onions, peppers, potatoes (sweet and regular), pumpkins, a variety of squash, tomatoes, zucchini, watermelon, and fresh herbs. We also hope to have jams/jellies, rhubarb leather, honey, maple syrup, canned goods, baked goods (pies, cookies, cakes), breads, nuts, beef, fresh cut flowers and eggs.
Also this week we have entertainment! Retro Randy will be back singing songs of the 50s and 60s.
