To all of our FARMERS’ MARKET customers, old and new!
As always, as our new farmers’ market season approaches, we are eager to offer you the finest in locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. This season, however, our market will look a little different. Along with being more utilitarian than anything, we will still be our friendly and welcoming selves. We will also be doing our best to minimize shopper time at the market and the possible spread of Covid-19. Our goal is to maintain an essential food resource for locally grown fresh foods in the healthiest possible way. Here are some important details about these changes.
Wednesdays only: To avoid the usual friendly family congregating that happens at the Saturday morning markets at the Courthouse Lawn, we plan to have one market each week. This market will be held at the Phoenix Center parking lot (100 S. Orange Street), from 1:30pm-5:30pm. on Wednesday afternoons. The 1:30pm starting time is new. Please let the vendors set up so we can begin the market at 1:30 promptly.
Personal Protection: For customer safety, all vendors will be wearing masks while at the market. We certainly recommend that our customers wear masks when possible. We will be practicing physical distancing: at least six feet apart. Portable hand sanitizer will be available at all vendor tables. In addition we ask that if you do bring children they be kept closely supervised at all times. We are also asking customers not to bring pets to the market. Please stay home if you are not feeling well. We are more than happy to provide you with a mask if needed.
Single use bags: Only single use bags will be used for produce. No recycled bags from other sources will be used, and produce may not be placed in customers’ reusable shopping bags (cloth or plastic) by vendor. Customers, please only touch products you intend on purchasing.
Products offered: Only fresh produce, vegetable/fruit plants, home canned foods, jams/ jellies will be available. Fresh cut flowers will be available, too. We will not have any arts and craft products available. This season we will not have any sampling of foods.
